How to get involved: Funding Opportunities
JMI is a UK registered charity (no. 328228). In addition to income earned
from public events, JMI has received support from academic, charitable,
corporate and public bodies. However, individual donations are fundamental
in securing JMI's continuing work. We welcome participation at all levels.
Recurring Donations
Donations on an annual or monthly basis are especially valuable to us
as they allow us to plan ahead with confidence. Please contact us for
details about making your donation by direct debit.
Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation
at no extra cost to yourself. JMI will receive a tax rebate from the Inland
Revenue. Please contact us about making your donation as Gift Aid. Both
one-off and recurring donations by UK taxpayers are eligible.
Friends
Friends of JMI make an annual donation of £25 or more. Friends receive
our regular newsletter, advance notice, priority booking and special discounts
on some tickets for JMI concerts.
Download the Friends Membership Form which you can download and fill in and send to JMI. You can make your payment here via PayPal
Supporters
Supporters of JMI make an annual donation of £250 or more. In addition
to Friends' benefits, Supporters receive free tickets for some JMI concerts.
Benefactors
Benefactors of JMI make an annual donation of £2,500 or more. Benefactors
make the difference in helping JMI meet the growth in interest in Jewish
music and see the concrete benefit of their contributions in innovative
concert and festival programmes, grants and scholarships for students,
researchers and practicing musicians, library and information facilities
and projects encouraging the broadest possible participation in Jewish
music.
Foundation Members
Foundation Members of JMI make an annual donation of £25,000 or
more. Foundation Members are truly the foundation of JMI's future. We
particularly welcome their involvement in long-term projects such as the
collection and conservation of historic materials on Jewish music, the
development of JMI Forums (including the JMI International Forum for Suppressed
Music and its work in recovering music banned by the Nazis) and the expansion
of Jewish music education (including the establishment of a Professorship
of Jewish Music, an Interdenominational School of Cantorial Art). Foundation
Members have the opportunity of having their names associated with projects
such as these. Foundation Members are acknowledged in all JMI publications.
Life Members
Life Members of JMI have made a contribution of £250,000 or more.
In recognition our most generous and longest-standing contributors, JMI
awards the status of Life Member.
Legacies
Help to ensure that the wellspring of Jewish music that inspired so many individuals to create some of the world’s most beloved
musicals and songs never runs dry. Click to see the JMI legacy document. Legacies to UK Registered Charities are exempt from inheritance tax and could help you to reduce the tax burden on your estate.
Its easy to write a note supplementing the terms of an existing Will. In the form attached is suitable wording for
a Codicil to your Will that you can fill in, have witnessed by two reliable people, send to your Solicitor and store
with your Will. You could also make a new Will to leave your estate – or part of it, to the Jewish Music Institute
so that the music of the Jewish people will live from generation to generation. We could put you in touch
with solicitors who are expert in this area of work. By leaving money in your will to the Jewish Music Institute you will become a guardian of the past – nurturer of the present – and enabler for the future ….

Corporate Supporters
JMI welcomes contributions from corporations and can offer a variety of
sponsorship opportunities. Please contact us about how a partnership could
work for you.
Volunteers
Many dedicated volunteers help to make JMI the vibrant organisation it
is. Volunteers offering their free time and skills range from students
to retired persons, from the musically trained to the professionally trained,
from pianists and singers to accountants, publishers and lawyers. Please
contact us if you would like to work with us.
