More details about 'A Yiddish Cabaret'

Calling all singers dancers and actors
For the second half Khayele Beer, Director of Ot Azoy! (the Yiddish Crash course) and the famous UCL Purimshpil (and lecturer in Yiddish at UCL) will be co-ordinating your contributions of Yiddish words and music.

If you would like to offer an act — that would be no longer than 4 - 5 minutes, have Yiddish relevance, be understandable to an audience that is not fluent in Yiddish, and be entertaining, then please contact Khayele helenb[at]macunlimited.net right away telling her what you would like to do and how long it takes.

Khayele will be holding auditions for the Yiddish Cabaret on Thursday 27 May at 8pm at The Spiro Ark Yiddish Hoyz (164 Grays Inn Road WC1). You should come to Spiro Ark Yiddish Hoyz on 27th and present your piece to Khayele at the audition. (even if its not in its final perfected form). We hope this will be a fun evening in itself and perhaps the first of many opportunities for performing to each other and that this will form the beginning of the 'New Yiddish Shpilers'

Join the band
Rachel Lasserson will be organising the Yiddish and Klezmer show band, to play before and after the performance do the links and to be your backing band if you need one. At the moment this consists of herself, her brother David, Laoise Davidson and Madeleine Solomon. If you would like to join the band, please contact Rachel Rlasserson[at]aol.com and the band should also come to the rehearsal/audition on Thursday 27th.

All performers may come to the cabaret for half price - £7.50 - this will include your refreshments and help cover the cost of the staging and lighting.

Book your tickets at The Spiro Ark:
