Phil Tomlinson with a powerful baritone voice had been developing the singing strand in the band as well as making Yiddish song, klezmer music and dance popular in Derbyshire. Phil says: ‘In September 2007 we took a wholly Derbyshire klezmer band to the Wirksworth Festival near Matlock, and played at four venues around the town including the market square. The band consisted of clarinet, flute, accordion and guitars, and we were supported by our dance teacher, who encouraged participation. last modified: January 28, 2010
