Thursday evenings
Starting 14 October 2004 , 6.45pm—8.45pm

Experts in their fields guide you through the joys and sorrows of Jewish life as portrayed by poets and musicians over the centuries. Sing Jewish folk and art songs in the Jewish languages of Yiddish, Judeo-Spanish (Ladino), Judeo-Arabic and Hebrew.

Voice consultation and coaching also available
Course includes end of term concerts.


Autumn Term (9 weeks):

Judeo Spanish Songs
Tutor: Yvonne Behar
Dates: October 14, 21, 28, November 4

Jewish Babylonian Songs
Tutor: Sara Manasseh
Dates: November 11, 18, 25, December 2, December 9 (end of term concert – open to friends and family)

Yiddish Songs
Tutor: Helen (Khayele) Beer
Dates: January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, 17

Jewish Art Songs (classical adaptations of Jewish folk songs in Yiddish, Hebrew and Ladino)
Tutor: Ruti Halvani
Dates: February 24, March 3, 10, 17, 24 March (end of term concert – open to friends and family)

Participants are advised to secure their place in advance. There are considerable reductions if you enrol for the whole course by 14 October
