ICSM Online Journal > Listings > Conferences ‘Music and Resistance: 1933–1945’ Salzburg University 10-11 April 2006 Call for Papers: Proposal Deadline: 15 October 2005 Conference Patron Sir Simon Rattle Part of the Salzburg Easter Festival, Director Sir Simon Rattle To accompany the ‘Kontrapunkte’ programmes at the Salzburg Easter Festival 2006 of music by composers affected by the edicts of the Third Reich, an international conference – ‘Music and Resistance: 1933–1945’ – is being convened by the JMI International Centre for Suppressed Music, University of London, and the Jewish Museum, Vienna, in co-operation with Salzburg University. Papers will be given in German and English. The conference will take place in Salzburg during the Easter Festival. The organising committee and key speakers will include The composers featured in this series, performed by members of the Berliner Philharmoniker, are Pavel Haas, Karl Amadeus Hartmann, Gideon Klein, Hans Krása, Ernst Krenek, Darius Milhaud, Constantin Regamey, Erich Schmid, Erwin Schulhoff, Viktor Ullmann, Vladimir Vogel, Anton Webern and Stefan Wolpe.
