Shulhof joins with Cantor Moshe Haschel of St John’s Wood Synagogue, London and Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler New West End Synagogue London and other presenters in stimulating lectures, masterclasses, debates, discussion and guided listening, concentrating on the nusach and melodies of the Yamim Nora’im with a special focus on the works and style of the amazingly innovative chazan Leibele Glantz.
Conference starts on Sunday at 5.00pm with Registration, Welcome and Opening Session and then a Conference Dinner with performances from Cantor Schulhof and others from around the world. The cost of this Banquet is included in the conference delegate fee and delegates may bring guests – family or friends at the discounted price of £25 each. (These should be booked in advance by a registered participant). Tickets for the dinner will be offered to members of the public @ £35 each and are available from JMI. (Tel 020 8909 2445) Also included for delegates is a complimentary copy of Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler’s (pictured right) newly published book of synagogue music that will be launched at the exquisitely beautiful New West End Synagogue on Tuesday evening 7 July, as part of the Convention Programme. Here again there will be performances from Cantor Schulhof and others and delegates will all be able to participate together with pieces from Geoffrey’s Book. The book is the first by a British cantor-composer to appear for nearly 100 years.
