JMI Competitions

Announcing the music competitions for 2011
for soloists and chamber ensembles
(organised by Sagi Hartov)

4th Israeli Music Competition

1st Prize: £1500 plus recording at Jerusalem Music Centre and live radio appearance.

2nd Prize: Solo performance with the London International Orchestra.

3rd Ernest Bloch Music Competition

1st Prize: £1000

2nd Prize: £500
Plus a part-recital prize for both competitions presented by the Jewish Music Institute.

The Bloch competition is open to candidates of all ages (Israeli music up to age 35).

Semi-finals - Monday 11 July at Menuhin School (Surrey)
Finals - Thursday 14 July at the Royal College of Music (London)

The Jewish Music Institute is an independent Arts organisation based at SOAS, University of London. It is an international focus bringing the ancient yet contemporary musical culture of the Jews to the mainstream British cultural, academic and social life. Its programmes of education, performance and information highlight many aspects of Jewish music throughout the ages and across the globe for people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.
