Cantor Asher Hainowitz, Jerusalem and other internationally respected experts

ECA joins with the Association of Jewish Communities of Lower Saxony in commemorating  the 75th anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz and looking at the development of synagogue music in the last 75 years. Hosted at the Villa Seligmann and the Hannover Jewish Community. Culminates in The ‘Night’ Concert: an oratorio for narrator, choir, soloists and orchestra composed by esteemed cantor and composer Leib Glantz. Includes a visit to nearby Bergen-Belsen.

Presentations by

Cantor Asher Hainowitz Jerusalem, Professor Mark Kligman Los Angeles and Cantor Beny Maissner, Toronto will focus on the progress of Synagogue music in the last 75 years and the future – with opportunities for delegates to present short sessions, and sing in the open mic and concerts.

Convention also includes a visit to the Parliament of Lower Saxony and the Ahlem memorial museum, Monday 27th a.m. and the trip to Bergen-Belsen, Tuesday morning 28th.

Musical highlights include Concerts by the Hannover Community Choir and ECA delegates, cantorial and choral Shabbat services shared between the community and the delegates. The ‘Night’ Concert: an oratorio composed by esteemed cantor and composer Leib Glantz and orchestrated and arranged by Joseph Ness (USA). It is based on the Holocaust testimony book ‘Night’ by Elie Wiesel and will feature the Kaliningrad Symphony Orchestra and the Vilnius State Choir as well as Moscow and Hannover Jewish choirs and Cantor Daniel Mutlu of New York as soloist.

Convention Fees: Delegates £100, Students, spouses and guests £80 (if paid by 30 November)
