Learn to sing Yiddish song at Golden Peacock Yiddish Song School in the heart of London at SOAS this Spring in April 2022.
The Golden Peacock The Yiddish Song course led by internationally acclaimed Yiddish singer and teacher Shura Lipovsky with esteemed colleagues from around the world, including the exceptional talent of Polina Shepherd. It is designed for all singers who wish to deepen their knowledge of the rich Yiddish song repertoire.
This year we are giving you the opportunity to return to an in-person programme.
Within Golden Peacock we have a specialist module for aspiring Yiddish Songwriters called Yiddish Songwriting Academy.
Each day will consist of:
Golden Peacock Core Module: Nigunim, Repertoire, Repertoire for all, Masterclass and Yiddish Choir
Yiddish Songwriting Academy: Nigunim, Yiddish for Singers, Poetry/Lyrical study, Creative Inspirations &

- This is the only opportunity in the UK to immerse yourself in the deep and inspiring world of Yiddish Song for an intense five days with interesting and like-minded people of all ages and from all backgrounds.

No matter what your level in Yiddish whether a beginner or a budding linguist, professional singer or amateur enthusiast, you will benefit from the width and breath of programmes on offer through the week, both day and night.
- The programme is based at SOAS, the heart of Ethnomusicology and the study of world cultures in the UK, at the Russell Square Campus in central London. What better chance to combine meeting an eclectic bunch of Yiddish enthusiasts with exploring one of Europe’s finest capital cities.

Refund policy – deductions are made due to the level of administration each studentships/application at different stages of preparation.
10% deducted if cancelled before 1 March.
25% deducted if cancelled after 1 April.
If due to the pandemic and Covid-19 restrictions that we are forced to move from in-person to online, then we will give you the option to accept either the switch from in-person to online or request a refund, in line with the refund policy timeline. (above)
