Du Pré is best-known for her beguiling and peerless interpretation of the Elgar Cello Concerto and this documentary tells the story of her relationship with the classic work in her own words. With a prologue shot just before Du Pré’s death, the documentary is largely filmed in the late 60s, and gives us a unique insight into this colourful, quirky and ultimately tragic legend.
