About Mark Eliyahu

Mark Eliyahu is  composer, Kamenche master, producer and live performer who is widely recognized as one of the most fascinating and exciting musicians on stage these days.

The Kamanche master player and the composer- Mark Eliyahu, and his father – Piris Eliyahu, composer & Tar player – are two of the most remarkable and respected figures in Israel’s World Music scene today. Carrying their ancient cultural roots as the Mountain Jews of Caucasus Dagestan, they immigrated to Israel and have been performing along the years in numerous concerts, festivals and collaborations, both in Israel and around the world. The fruit of their creative musical cultivation, which is a genuine and colorful original Israeli music, is recorded on several albums.

With his live charismatic performance, he is preforming and selling out venues all over the world. In the “Let it go” tour, Mark Eliyahu combines ancient instruments such as kamanche and Tar with modern and futuristic electronics. He fuses East and West, and takes his music one step forward in to a deep journey of sound. Mark Eliyahu, the son of musician and composer Piris Eliyahu, was raised in a household where music was everything: work, passion, learning, and joy.

He grew up breathing music as a way of life, and already at the young age of sixteen started his musical journeys around the world, seeking encounters with various masters. Mark’s mastery of his Kamanche, which was built 150 years ago, is widely renowned. The unique sound of this fascinating instrument is carried far and wide, and for years Mark has been invited to perform with it on numerous distinguished stages around the world.
